Welcome!
My name is Thomas J. Bartholomew, but I go by TJ. In 2011, I graduated high school and began undergrad studies as an undecided business major. I had I have no idea what I want to do with my life stamped on my forehead. Finally, I decided a business degree wasn’t right for me after Dr. Yerger’s Economics classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My professor spoke a language I didn’t understand…although he had impeccable English.
I transferred to the tall Davis Hall, the teaching building, and touched every step of the spiral staircase towards student teaching. Then, I took the certification tests, graduated, and passed all my teacher-tests. That Summer ’16, I packed my bags for Jacksonville, Florida.
I spent 2 years in Jacksonville teaching 3rd grade. In 2018, I moved back to Pennsylvania. An emerging Charter School offered me a position, and now I’m going into Year 3 there.
Our school is moving virtual for the 2020 School Year. I have a class of students, but at the moment am awaiting details on what my day will look like, specifically, during work hours. For me, working from home is fantastic, and I’d be over the moon to continue this arrangement post-pandemic.
Summer is over…school is here…and a lots been piled on my plate since Monday. Luckily, I’m eating whats in my fridge and not going back and forth to the grocery store.
